Online magazine
A digital glimpse into the extraordinary world of Ballast Nedam
Ballast Nedam is a development and construction company where the projects form the core of the company. She strives to help customers achieve their goals in the construction industry. Trust is the basis. Through a direct and open dialogue with its customers and partners, Ballast Nedam develops future-proof buildings and infrastructure: from dream to realization.

Produce an online magazine
Ballast Nedam was looking for an innovative way to tell the organization's story and offer the target group a rich experience. Because Ballast Nedam offers a wide range of services and services, the biggest challenge was to present this attractively and clearly. In addition to the online magazine, there was also the wish for an offline version. The scope of the assignment was to create an interactive online magazine, including interviews, copy, translations into English and advice on photography and image editing.
What do we want to achieve?
In a nutshell, yes, but the following goals were linked to the assignment:
- Inspire
- Inquire
- Enthuse

Interaction & experience
To publish the online magazine, we chose the Foleon platform. This platform stands out because it really offers the possibility to get a printed magazine in an online format. And more than that. Think of hyperlinks, animations and video. It also offers a user-friendly user interface and is very intuitive.
Maximum result
Of course, our digital team wanted to get the most out of the platform to make the experience even richer, more beautiful and more informative. Each page had to offer a different experience and tell a different story; no long paragraphs of text, but lots of quotes, inserts, images and video. What the platform did not provide was created by ourselves, such as animated graphs to show Ballast Nedam's annual results.

One to hold
An abridged hard copy version of the online magazine has also been made for customers and relations. This includes the most important information including two example projects from the online version. The look of the offline version is fully in line with the online version.
Copy and edit
In addition to the visualization of the online and offline magazine, we also signed for all copies: interviews, writing long copy (for the online version) and short copy (for the offline version). We have also edited a number of texts provided by Ballast Nedam, so that there is an equal tone of voice through all articles and documents.
All checkmarks ticked
Thanks to a clear coordination at the start of the project, tightly organized project management, a very pleasant cooperation with Ballast Nedam and our knowledgeable professionals, we were able to achieve everything on time and within the tight deadline.
