A stock market activation with FUN!

Dutch Comic Con is the place where creativity and competition come together. HP's gaming brand OMEN wanted to stand out here with more than just beautiful products. She wanted visitors to experience gaming in a way that sticks: fun, energy and innovation, all in a unique setting.

The question

Bringing brand promise to life

How do you bring the brand promise “Fun is a Choice” to life at a trade fair like Dutch Comic Con? An environment where gaming enthusiasts, cosplayers and pop culture enthusiasts come together requires an activation that stands out, is relevant to the target group and at the same time reveals the technical specs of Omen products. The challenge was clear: how do we attract the attention of the target group, ensure that they immerse themselves in the brand experience and achieve measurable results?

To design an activation that both appeals to the target group and reinforces the brand promise, we delved into the world of gaming, pop culture and the Comic Con audience. What we noticed was that this group loves interaction, competition and playful experiences. At the same time, they want to feel like they choose what they do — this fits in perfectly with “Fun is a Choice”. These insights formed the basis for our strategic and creative advice.

The creative idea

Fun is a Choice

The OMEN booth was all about experience and drew visitors directly into the OMEN Cyber Café — a colorful world full of '90s and Y2K vibes. Everything was tailored to the Comic Con target group: bright colors, nostalgic music and a setting that perfectly matched the creative energy of Comic Con.

The highlight? The Silent Disco Fun Experience. With a FUN Pass, visitors got to work in an interactive mix of music, gaming and assignments. Familiar songs, linked to OMEN specifications such as powerful cooling and the mini-LED display, provided a dopamine boost and helped to remember the specs better. Spot all FUN XPs and become the Champion of Fun!

In the Party Game Area, visitors could play together while discovering the latest Omen laptops, desktops, and accessories at the demo bar. Everything in the booth was designed to convey one message: Fun is a Choice — and gaming is possible anytime, anywhere.

OMEN is playing in the FUN Champions League!

With the OMEN Cyber Cafe Dutch Comic Con became a stage where the brand promise “Fun is a Choice” came fully to life. By combining a well-thought-out concept, target-group-oriented experience and measurable results, OMEN created a powerful brand experience. This proves that fun in gaming is not an accident, but a conscious choice — exactly what we wanted to show together with OMEN.
